feel better in your body
Rehabilitation-led Pilates, built around you.
This isn't about pushing your body harder. It's about understanding it better.
At Amy Bird Method, every session is built around you, your body, your history, your pace. Rooted in rehabilitation and shaped by years of experience, this is movement designed to support, strengthen and restore.
No pressure. No expectations. Just a space to feel better in your body.
A DIFFERENT
WAY TO MOVE
Meet AMY
Amy Bird is a Pilates instructor with over ten years' experience, specialising in rehabilitation-led movement. With a background in dance, her approach blends precision with intuition, creating a space where every body feels supported, understood and welcome.
Ballet has always been Amy's first love. She trained through the Royal Academy of Dance and, in 2018, joined the Joburg Youth Ballet Company. It was in the search to strengthen and protect her body for dance that she found Pilates, and what began as cross-training soon became a calling of its own.
THE OLD WAY → THE AMY BIRD METHOD
A programme built for everybody →Sessions shaped around you, in real time
Pushed to the edge, then left to recover →Progress measured by how you feel
Pushed to the edge, then left to recover →Movement that builds recovery from the start
A class you attend →A practice you belong to

Amy Bird Method isn't a class you follow. It's a way of working that adapts to you, built on four principles developed over a decade of practice.
the four ab.m pillars
01. Rehabilitation-Led Movement
Movement that supports the body, not pushes it beyond its limits. A focus on recovery, longevity and real-life functionality.
02. Intuitive Teaching
Every session is shaped around the individual, not a fixed programme. Amy reads the body in real time and adjusts accordingly.
03. A Safe, Welcoming Space
No judgement. No expectation. An approach open to every age, ability and background.
04. Ballet-Rooted Foundation
Precision, control and discipline drawn from a lifetime in dance, woven quietly into every session.
